Content Marketing
Concord Music Publishing
In a Nutshell
Produced social media posts, newsletters and a long-term content calendar for leading independent music company Concord.

Tools Used
- Canva
- Mailchimp
- DISCO
The Challenge
During the summer of 2025, I worked in New York as the publishing marketing intern for Concord. With a roster of over 700 creatives, the marketing team needed to communicate frequent updates. I was tasked with turning news into engaging content for external and internal audiences, while also identifying future content opportunities.

My Process
I designed graphics and wrote copy for routine Instagram posts, providing updates to a large industry audience. Early drafts went through several rounds of review, familiarizing me with CMP editorial conventions. I used the company’s templates and brand kit to streamline the creation process.

I also produced 3 monthly newsletters in Mailchimp. For each issue, I selected 3-4 timely themes, wrote accompanying blurbs, and curated DISCO playlists featuring songs by CMP writers. Each newsletter included a custom Canva header.
On the strategy side, I developed a long-term content calendar. I mapped out new signings, awards shows and other recurring priorities before brainstorming more uncommon ways to spotlight creatives, including artist birthdays and niche holidays.
Results
- Created Instagram content for nearly 20,000 followers
- Produced 3 publishing newsletters featuring company news, curated playlists and original graphics
- Developed yearlong content calendar spanning July 2025–2026
Reflection
Good content marketing requires a willingness to think outside of the box. As I built the content calendar, I had to think more broadly about how to showcase the CMP roster. Posts about birthdays, anniversaries and cultural milestones were not only original, but provided opportunities to highlight less-visible creatives.
