Tools Used

  • Squarespace

The Challenge
Upon joining CollegeGroove in 2022, I was asked to establish a digital presence for the company. The website needed to make a strong first impression, convey the consultant’s services and expertise, and encourage visitors to reach out.

My Process
The site was designed in Squarespace using the consultant’s desired color palette and font pairing. I selected high-quality images to complement copy and designed a wave-motif logo that played on the company name.

Parents were the site’s primary audience; copy appropriately emphasized how CollegeGroove would provide structure, ease family tensions, and help students thrive. Strategically placed calls to action directed prospective clients toward scheduling a consultation.

SEO was used to improve organic search rankings. I started a blog to answer common admissions questions and increase site traffic, optimized headings and filenames, and incorporated relevant keywords into site copy.

Results

  • Built and launched client-facing website, with continual improvements; increased site visits 71% and pageviews 63% from August 2025–2026
  • Generated conversion-focused site structure directing visitors towards consultation scheduling
  • Developed SEO framework for web pages and ongoing blog content

Reflection
This was my first professional experience with web design. I was working for a business owner with their own marketing goals and needed to translate those goals into a unified digital brand. I was ultimately able to fulfill CollegeGroove’s needs while also suggesting my own ideas for improvement, such as designing an eye-catching logo and incorporating a blog.
